The brethren of Clwyd Lodge of Installed Masters were on the receiving end of some ancient Masonic ritual recently.
Burnley and Pendle District 1759 demonstration team travelled the short journey over the Welsh border to entertain the past masters and to add some much-needed funds for the East Lancashire Masonic Charity. The Charity of choice for the ancient ritual demonstration team.
The past masters turned up en masse and almost filled the lodge room to capacity, which is always good to see, and certainly makes the ceremony more interesting. Personally, I thought it was the best performance the team have delivered to date.
A great social board followed with plenty of interest in the costume and regalia of the time being expressed. and many questions being asked about the team’s performances and the source of the ritual we use. The toast to the King was proposed by the 1759 Master with a roaring response by the brethren, followed by the traditional Huzzah from all present.
It was a great success and one to be remembered.
