It’s always a pleasure to visit the magnificent Masonic Hall on Bridge Street in Manchester, in fact this was the second visit for the 1759 demonstration team in recent months.
On this occasion however we were performing in front of the Provincial Grand Officers Lodge No 3747 with VWBro Derek N Thornhill as Worshipful Master.
The performance went well with the slight changes to the script fitting in very smoothly and everyone playing their part admirably. Not sure John Hudson’s rendition of the new masons song was much appreciated, he needs to keep his day job, but it raised a smile.
The dinning at Bridge Street is excellent and no complaints were made regarding the Chicken or Salmon dishes on offer, the meal finished off with cheese and Biscuits and Coffee’s all round.
The PGM’s were in fine form and the toasts and responses very much light-hearted and convivial. The 120 or so members and guests raised just under £800.00 in the raffle, £400.00 of which will be finding its way to the 2015 Festival on behalf of the 1759 Performance.
