What a superb night we had at Red Rose of Lancaster Lodge at Padiham. Everything flowed really smoothly, including Godfrey’s orange juice!
Can I thank all who took part for doing a magnificent job again – as the WM of 401 said when he replied for the visitors ‘you have just witnessed a performance by the finest masonic actors in East Lancashire’ (not that there are anymore masonic actors of course, unless you include the Provincial RA team))
Can I also thank those who arrived early and helped set up the lodge with Kevin and myself. Unfortunately this was the last appearance for Kevin as for those who don’t know, he is emigrating in December to Thailand and can I take this opportunity to thank him for all the wonderful work he has done for the team over the last 18 months – he will be sorely missed. If you know of anybody as good as Kevin to take his place please let me know as he has donated his costume back to the team.
The main thing about the night was that your efforts raised another magnificent sum, this time of £460 for the 2015 Festival which has taken our total raised to over £2000 for just 4 performances. Absolutely brilliant.
We have already got three performances pencilled in for 2013, the 1st one at Lodge of Silent Temple on March 19th at Burnley of course. They will be celebrating their 250th anniversary on that night and we shall rename ourselves just for that one occasion as the 1762 demonstration team. Hope you will all be on your best behaviour, if that is possible, as there will be enough gold braid to sink a battleship present that evening from United Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Lodge.
The other two pencilled in so far are at Valley Installed Masters at Todmorden and another visit into West Lancashire.
I have also been approached to perform at Rochdale next November by Alex McLaren, I am still awaiting word back from Banbury and I gave my phone number to another West Lancashire mason on Thursday night.
Finally I have had a request from Bob to perform at Pendle Lodge on Thursday April 11th. This will be subject to a lodge committee decision of course but if it does come off is everybody up for it?
I am thinking of possibly going out for meal, with the wives of course, in either December or January – please again let me know if you are interested and once I have had discussion with Glyn I will let you know future practice dates.
Finally if I don’t see you again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
