Sunday mornings is not the most gratifying of times to meet for a masonic lodge meeting, never mind just a practice. But this one was special, the final practice for Zion Menorah lodge performance. The players seemed to be in fine form, especially our Tyler Bro. Godfrey Ayre who, even at this late stage, continues to drop into the script absolute pearls of wisdom from that 1759 era.
We dispensed with the full dress rehearsal but set out the lodge with all the trappings and paraphernalia of the evening, more to ensure everything went into the travelling box and nothing was left behind. One or two prompts were required but on the whole the players are probably a little over practised, I’m sure the nerves on the night will calm it all down and it flow to plan.
Mark Barlow has arranged a mini bus for us all and agreed a sum of monies to cover fuel and driver cost.
Meet at Burnley Masonic hall for 4:00pm departure to Manchester.
Good luck everyone, it should be a good one tonight. Bridge Street is a big venue and there will be plenty of room. Just remember to speak up.
Break a leg.
